Grantmaking

The William J. and Dorothy K. O’Neill Foundation grantmaking programs are aligned with our vision, mission, and values. Each of the Foundation’s grantmaking programs described below is administered by guidelines for each program area.

Responsive Grantmaking

Organizations receiving support from the Responsive Grantmaking program are aligned with the Foundation’s vision, mission and values; are family-centered; represent a community where O’Neill family members are actively involved; and meet the requirements and guidelines for each program area. Support is available for capacity building, special projects and general operations.
 
Responsive grants are made to organizations providing services in the following areas where O’Neill family members are actively involved:
 
Washington, D.C.: limited to DC proper
Florida: Bonita Springs, Greater Orlando, Naples
Hawaii: Big Island
New York City: Brooklyn, The Bronx, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island
Maryland: Baltimore City, Annapolis, Anne Arundel County
Ohio: Columbus, Greater Cleveland, Licking County
Virginia: Richmond
Texas: Austin, Houston
Vermont: Dorset, Rupert, Manchester, Pawlet

O’Neill Family Grantmaking Programs

Grants made through the invitation-only O'Neill Family Grantmaking programs are provided for: Family-Directed Grantmaking and Youth-Directed Grantmaking. Uninvited requests will not be considered.
